Château de Goncourt is a beautiful old castle in the quiet village of Matignicourt-Goncourt, not far from Vitry-le-François. It was built in the early 1700s and has a grand, elegant design with white stone walls, tall windows, and a slate roof. A long driveway leads to the entrance, where there's a stone bridge over a moat and a large gate.

Inside, the castle has big rooms with wooden floors, fancy wall panels, and a stunning wooden spiral staircase. It’s decorated with old symbols and family crests, showing its noble past.

Over the years, the château has had some famous visitors and owners. In the 1700s, the French writer Denis Diderot stayed there and wrote love letters from the house. In the 1900s, it was even owned by fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld.

Today, the castle is available to rent for holidays or events like weddings. It sits on a huge property with gardens, forests, a swimming pool, and even a small private beach by the river. There are also other buildings on the land that have been fixed up for guests.

Château de Goncourt is a quiet, romantic place to stay—perfect for relaxing, exploring nature, or visiting the nearby Champagne vineyards and Lac du Der.
